Welcome to the first quarterly installment of Market Insights: California Edition!
I spent the past week getting back into California classrooms and catching up with leaders who have been focused on planning materials adoptions. I loved sitting with students and hearing the lesson come to life through their math talk. I saw masterful teaching, new math approaches, and strong leadership all working in concert to create a dynamic and engaging learning experience. It was a great week.
Beyond the classroom, my conversations with curriculum leaders highlighted just how much they are juggling—piloting materials, ensuring teachers are ready for the instructional shifts, paired with new policies and fresh budget demands. I heard leaders looking for clarity and clear information as they navigate the complexities.
That’s why we created this newsletter. It’s meant to offer grounded information and a wider view of the dynamics occurring across the state, in order for leaders to have the best information in hand as they support their local district.
