Dear Friend,
As I reflect back on 2024, I am both proud of and energized by an exceptional year of growth, innovation, and impact at the Center for Education Market Dynamics.
From pioneering new tools and research methodologies to strengthening our partnerships with districts and state education agencies (SEAs), 2024 was transformative in advancing our goal of driving improved student outcomes, particularly for historically underserved students.
Some of our key achievements in highlighting the instructional materials selected by K-12 districts nationwide included:
- Sharing new insights with the field, illuminating the K-12 curriculum landscape.
- Expanding our data collection efforts to include not only core math, ELA, science, and social studies, but also supplemental and assessment materials, high-impact tutoring initiatives, and superintendency turnover.
- Growing our database to cover nearly 2,000 districts, representing over 60% of all students nationwide.
- Partnering with Massachusetts DESE to develop their new Curriculum Dashboard, which received national attention for its innovation in making visible the uptake of high-quality materials to drive more-informed district curriculum decisions.
- Demonstrating our ongoing commitment to data transparency and instructional coherence by launching Market Explorer.
These milestones were complemented by our success in building community with mission-aligned partners through collaborative initiatives, webinars, workshops, and convenings. We are grateful for a committed and focused network who are collectively doing the work in support of students and teachers.
As we kick off 2025, I am excited to build on this strong foundation. From sharing new insights via our reports to scaling our research capabilities to supporting districts and SEAs in leveraging high-quality instructional materials, 2025 promises to be a year of opportunity and continued collaboration.
Thank you for being part of this journey—your dedication and partnership are what make these accomplishments possible.
Here’s to an inspiring year ahead,
Lora Kaiser
